Hello all,
As I am preparing to become a proud owner of NuPRO A-200 and speaker stand MS-67, I have a few questions:
The mounting plates supplied with the MS-67 are 12.5 x 12.5 cm (also pre-drilled) and 17 x 15 cm.
NuPRO A-200 has a footprint of 19.5 x 19.5 cm.
1.How do you fix the speaker to the stand? Is it by screws (and does the NuPRO have a holes on the bottom) or do you use something like Doublet from Nubert? Or are the speakers supported only by their own weight?
2.How do you 'fix' the basement of the stands - do I need spikes eventually?
3.Regarding the speaker position, I can not place them freely in the room due to space limitations, I can only place them 10-20 cm from the wall.. What is your experience - is the bass too exaggerated?
With best regards,
Goran

the plate is stable on the ground, I see no reason for spikes and no opportunity to install spikes at bottom fp MSGoran hat geschrieben: 2.How do you 'fix' the basement of the stands - do I need spikes eventually?
i think the bass is very strong in this situation, but you can reduce it in a linear way in the menu of the A200Goran hat geschrieben: 3.Regarding the speaker position, I can not place them freely in the room due to space limitations, I can only place them 10-20 cm from the wall.. Re: NuPRO A-200 speaker stands and distance to the wall
Thanks for the spot-on answers, caine2011!
I would like to hear more opinions about the distance from the wall of the A-200 owners in order to avoid bass booming from the rear port.
How far from the rear wall should the A-200 be in order to have a clean bass without using the tone controls or high-pass filter?
Your experiences, please!

Re: NuPRO A-200 speaker stands and distance to the wall
It shouldnt be much of a deal if you place your A200 10 to 20 cm from the wall regarding the bass reflex noises.
On the other hand, this forum will recommend you to place them as free as possible. In my honest opinion: The "close-distance-problems" concern mainly the mid and high frequencies. You can lower your bass with the rc in order to compensate too much of it. It will depend a lot on the music and your hearing habits though.
Best regards,
Thomas

Re: NuPRO A-200 speaker stands and distance to the wall
Thanks, ThomasB,
I research a little through various forums and user manuals of the speaker manufacturers.
There is not a general rule, though generally recommendations are in the range of minimum 25-50 cm and optimum of 60-90 cm from the rear wall for the rear-ported speakers. In my room, I can not place them further than 20-25 cm.
The important caveat is that the distances from the rear and the side walls should not be the same.
Anyhow, the best thing I can do is wait for my speakers to arrive, and then to experiment.
